What we collect
When you use myClipr we collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account details: email and (if you sign in with Google) your display name and avatar URL.
- Your bookmarks: the URLs, titles, descriptions, notes, tags, AI summaries, and screenshots you save.
- Boards and shared-board membership: board names, who created them, and who you’ve invited.
- Billing details: handled by Stripe. We see your subscription status, plan, and renewal date. We never store card numbers.
- Operational logs: request logs for debugging and security review. No bookmark contents in logs.
What we don't collect
- No marketing analytics pixels.
- No third-party advertising trackers.
- No access to pages you visit unless you explicitly save them with the extension.
- No browsing history, no clipboard contents, no keystrokes.
How we use your data
- To run the product: sync your bookmarks across your devices.
- To enrich bookmarks with AI summaries, tags, categories, and screenshots, using the AI provider keys you configure (or our shared keys, if you prefer).
- To send transactional email: board invitations, sign-in verification, subscription receipts, payment-failure notices. We do not send marketing emails.
- To detect and prevent abuse and fraud.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Sub-processors we use
Running myClipr means trusting a small list of services with parts of your data. Here’s the full list:
- Convex: backend database and runtime. Self- hosted on our own infrastructure in a European datacenter; we control the underlying servers and your data stays in the EU. See convex.dev.
- Cloudflare Email Service: outbound transactional email (board invites, receipts, etc.). See cloudflare.com.
- Stripe: payment processing. PCI scope SAQ A (we never see card numbers). See stripe.com/privacy.
- Google OAuth: optional sign-in method. We receive your email, name, and avatar URL.
- Microlink / Thum.io: screenshot capture for saved URLs.
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI: AI enrichment providers. Requests use the API key you configure in your settings, billed by them directly; we proxy nothing through a shared key. Each call’s token usage + estimated cost is logged into your own Settings → AI Providers tab so you can see exactly what was sent and what it cost.
We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it with advertisers. We share it with sub-processors only to the extent they need it to provide the function above. We never train AI models on your library.
Where data lives
Bookmark data and screenshots live on our self-hosted Convex backend, hosted in a European datacenter: your data stays in the EU. Backups are encrypted at rest. Stripe and Cloudflare run on their own infrastructure under their own privacy policies (linked above).
How long we keep it
- Active bookmarks and boards: kept for the life of your account.
- Trashed items: auto-purged 30 days after you delete them.
- Account deletion: deleting your account removes all your bookmarks, boards, settings, and API keys from the live database within minutes. Backup retention is up to 30 days.
- Stripe records: retained per Stripe’s financial-records obligations regardless of account deletion.
Your rights
You can:
- Export everything you’ve saved, anytime, in JSON / HTML / CSV / Markdown: Settings → Data → Export.
- Delete your entire account and all associated data: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Correct any account detail by editing it in Settings.
- Ask us anything about your data at [email protected].
